Membership Criteria
he AUN’s Executive Committee shall decide first whether an individual or a group of policy makers, law makers, think-tanks, researchers, business entities, civil society members, activists meet the criteria for membership, and then it shall approve or reject applications for membership from individuals and groups.
Criteria for Governments
“Governments” shall mean a system or group of people governing an organized community, generally a state which normally consists of legislature, executive, and judiciary as a mechanism for determining policy. In order for a group or individual to qualify for AUN membership, they must adhere to all of the following criteria:
- he Government should belong to an internationally recognized State or Group of States. The AUN’s Executive Committee adopts the policy of the United Nations for recognizing States as member States.
- The members must be from a freely elected Government.
