AUN Membership is a platform for policymakers, researchers, business entities, and civil society members to collaborate on impactful actions and campaigns — a diverse global community united in advancing democratic principles.

Who can join

Membership is open to individuals and organizations from democratic societies worldwide: parliamentarians and public officials, academic researchers, think tanks, NGOs and CSOs, businesses committed to responsible advocacy, and engaged citizens. See the full membership criteria.

What members do

Members select, develop, and run advocacy campaigns; contribute to and access AUN research; participate in international, regional, and national events including AUN's Annual Forum; and receive technical and legal advice from experts in the AUN Secretariat to support treaty ratification and policy reform advocacy.

AUN Advisory

AUN advisory is a membership-based body governed by policy makers, think-tanks, researchers, business entities, civil society members and activists in which they freely decide to select, develop and undertake an action or a campaign. AUN Members are current and former policy makers in government, researchers, think-tanks, ruling and opposition political party members, corporates and civil society activists from countries where the democratic governments have true legitimacy and authority or it is undergoing a transition or from countries in which the society is struggling to promote democratic principles and restore the constitutional order.

The AUN advisory membership is open to individual policy makers, law makers, think-tanks, researchers, business entities, civil society members, activists from democracies worldwide. Read our requirements to become a member.

Membership Criteria

Membership in AUN is open to individuals and organizations who share our commitment to promoting democratic principles, advancing human rights, and fostering sustainable development.

Any Member or Alternate Member who are in group or individual policy makers, law makers, think-tanks, researchers, business entities, civil society members, activists from democracies worldwide can apply for AUN Membership.

Membership in AUN will be granted to individuals and organizations who demonstrate a commitment to promoting democratic principles, advancing human rights, and fostering sustainable development. Prospective members are evaluated based on their expertise, leadership, and history of impactful advocacy efforts.
